A notification was issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on 18th March stating that the Central Government has notified the expression “Special Window for Affordable and Middle-Income Housing Investment I” and such expression shall mean the fund sponsored by the Central Government to provide priority debt financing for stalled housing projects. Such fund would be an alternative investment fund registered under the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 and shall provide financing for the completion of stalled housing projects for the affordable and middle-income housing sector.
